On Vibhu's Birthday

Kid's first birthday is always special. So last Wednesday out of ordinary for me as it's Vibhu's first birthday today. The celebration started from a day before only. Vibhu's favorite person, his didi "Dhwani" celebrated his birthday at 12 O'clock. Although her half yearly exams are starting from today but she is overjoyed with the thoughts of birthday gala. I was surprised to see her message in my phone. She wanted us ( me and my dear husband) to take Vibhu to her place at 12 AM sharp. I was already noticing some activity at her room which is just above my kitchen window. When I reached there with Vibhu, I was touched with the gesture of whole Dhwani's family. They had decorated the room, cake was placed and birthdays songs were playing in order. Vibhu always feel happy to see them so he started dancing with the music. My bad I was in a messy dress whereas every one from Dhwani's family her mother, father, cousin all were dressed well. Vibhu loves balloons so he got busy playing with his didi and balloons. For a mother best is to see her tots playing, laughing and enjoying fullest. I was walking on air to see things there. Cake cutting happened and every one got snaps clicked with Vibhu. They showed immense love for Vibhu, specially Dhwani. I thanked them with full heart.

On 9th we had a small party near to my place. Few friends and office mates came to bless Vibhu and they made celebration go rock. Vibhu was dressed in golden-maroon shervani. His father got this specially for him, hunting markets for whole 3 days. Vibhu was enjoying and so we were also enjoying seeing him in best spirit. Overall it was one of the memorable days of my life. My son has achieved first milestone of his life.

I wish my son lots of lots of smile in coming years. We are always there with you Vibhu.

Happy Birthday Vibhu baby :)

My 'Invisible' Accomplishments #DecadeHop #RRxMM

As we entered 2020, through this post I am trying to contemplate the coolest, most daring, and most significant feats of my life during the last decade. Now the more I regress my memory, the more I feel there are two types of achievements or accomplishments that I can ponder upon; Visible and Invisible. Visible ones are those that I can count on my finger like a parrot and others can nod also. I got specs on, married to a not-so-romantic man, produced a baby, started writing and added good 17 kgs in my body volume (I was 50 in 2011). However, there are many invisible accomplishments too that either I know silently or very few can assert. From 2011 to 2019, Who am I now From a coy soul to now an outspoken woman, the trek was not easy. I achieved it. From being a no-makeup girl to now a lipstick swatches observer, the transition was tough. But it happened. And from being a sweet hater to now a sweet lover, the change was mysterious yet occurred. And now I can die for Gulab Jamuns....

Vibhu and Web Series - First web series that we enjoyed together

Television has been our biggest medium of entertainment for long. However, with the evolution of the internet, the monopoly broke and people started looking for a new kind of fun through the internet. Social media is one such kind of source of refreshment. Then we witnessed how slowly OTT platforms established their roots in our country and web series became the most-watched content among people of the new generation. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar are few very popular platforms that took over the digital space like a storm.  Then Covid happened. We all were at home and those who had internet access lapped up multiple  web series  on OTT platforms. With lockdown outside, it was binge-watching; nonstop, morning, day, and night. That further accelerated the growth and business of the OTT platforms like hell.  I am also one such person who got caught by web series fever during the first lockdown time. I was on maternity break and totally mad because of postpartum bugs. ...

#TheWomanThatIAm #RRxMM I am not the woman who..

I am not the mother who.. I am not the mother who stayed longer with her newborn, I resumed office when he was barely 2 months old. I am not the mother who witnessed each of my kid's milestones, I got to know them when being told. I am not the mother who could tell breastfeeding stories, my child is a formula-fed gold. I am not the mother who keeps the house spotless, I let my son scatter toys and go overbold. I am not the mother who manages a detailed list for parenting chores, I often keep my to-dos on hold. I am not the mother whom people admire, I hear people calling me selfish and cold. ALSO I am a doting mother who tries to juggle between family and work every other minute.  I am a mother who watches silly cartoons with my boy.  I am a mother who repeatedly tells the same story every night.  I am a mother who cooks my son's favorite food every week.  And I am also a mother who is the closest person in my son's life! I am not the ...
