God save our babies from diseases

We never want our babies to get sick and for this, we try our best to keep our babies safe and healthy. But we can't hide them inside our places so they go outside play, eat and enjoy. This exposure to outside world sometime get them infected by some nasty viruses. Last week my son was suffering from severe cold-fever. We started with few medicines and saw improvements in his health. I thanked God and wished Vibhu to come out quickly from this cold bug. Cold is like a night ghost. This can't let babies sleep well. I saw Vibhu was tossing over bed because of nose blockage. Giving him nozzle drop was only option we had. We both, husband and wife, really avoid this remedy until no option left. Vibhu hate this nozzle drop but ultimately I gave it to him and he started crying with discomfort in his nose.

Next day after reaching home from my office I came to know from my mother in-law that Vibhu now got loose motions. In a single day he did it for more than 20 times. I saw his face with so much worry. He was looking dull and baffled. I took him in my arms and tried to make him smile. After some time he looked okay and slept in my lap. We had few medicines for loose motion as well so we gave it to Vibhu first day. When second day there was no respite for Vibhu, we went to our regular pediatrician. New medicines and log waiting for relief!! During this time Vibhu was irritated because of continuous cleaning and wiping. Rashes added new discomfort for him. In spite of taking medicines, there was no lighting of loose motions. Third day we again went to the same doc. He said its viral diarrhea and it takes time. But to see Vibhu in such condition was becoming painful for us. I almost cried when he shouted while changing his pants. He was not eating anything and was not taking any feed. I was continuously prying for getting easement for my baby. Finally fourth day we went to a new doc in hope of some betterment. Thank god new medicines worked for Vibhu. He slept well in night and we took a sigh of relief. To see our babies in pain is most difficult situation for a mother. Being a working mother, whole day I couldn't be with him. I normally take leaves if Vibhu is not well but this time I couldn't get leaves due to certain reasons. My husband was at home for Vibhu because Vibhu needed him. Whole week went in praying for Vibhu. We couldn't sleep well whole week and my mother in-law couldn't do any rest. But when Friday we saw Vibhu playing and singing (in his own language :) ) we all thanked God again and again !!

I wish our babies never get affected with these awful diseases. Especially when they can't express their uneasiness in words, I find it more difficult. It takes lots of patience to deal with our ailing babies. They don't want to eat, they don't like playing either. And medicines add extra nuisance. Babies simply hate them. God please save every kid from these displeasuring situations. Give them lot of lot of smiles. Give them strength to fight all viruses. Let them play as they want. Give them abundance of joy every minutes every second!!

My 'Invisible' Accomplishments #DecadeHop #RRxMM

As we entered 2020, through this post I am trying to contemplate the coolest, most daring, and most significant feats of my life during the last decade. Now the more I regress my memory, the more I feel there are two types of achievements or accomplishments that I can ponder upon; Visible and Invisible. Visible ones are those that I can count on my finger like a parrot and others can nod also. I got specs on, married to a not-so-romantic man, produced a baby, started writing and added good 17 kgs in my body volume (I was 50 in 2011). However, there are many invisible accomplishments too that either I know silently or very few can assert. From 2011 to 2019, Who am I now From a coy soul to now an outspoken woman, the trek was not easy. I achieved it. From being a no-makeup girl to now a lipstick swatches observer, the transition was tough. But it happened. And from being a sweet hater to now a sweet lover, the change was mysterious yet occurred. And now I can die for Gulab Jamuns....

Vibhu and Web Series - First web series that we enjoyed together

Television has been our biggest medium of entertainment for long. However, with the evolution of the internet, the monopoly broke and people started looking for a new kind of fun through the internet. Social media is one such kind of source of refreshment. Then we witnessed how slowly OTT platforms established their roots in our country and web series became the most-watched content among people of the new generation. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar are few very popular platforms that took over the digital space like a storm.  Then Covid happened. We all were at home and those who had internet access lapped up multiple  web series  on OTT platforms. With lockdown outside, it was binge-watching; nonstop, morning, day, and night. That further accelerated the growth and business of the OTT platforms like hell.  I am also one such person who got caught by web series fever during the first lockdown time. I was on maternity break and totally mad because of postpartum bugs. ...

A Quote That Changed My Life

The very thought of being away from my son all day long sometimes makes me feel low. Being a working woman, I seldom feel that my responsibilities as a mother remain overlooked. The talks of some non-working friends & family ladies add more to this worry of mine. Some of them never worked and many of them had to leave their jobs in order to fulfill the responsibility as a mother. My life often takes me to the thought of becoming a homemaker so that I can stay at home all the time for my son. However, at the same moment, I also realize my responsibility towards my family which includes my in-laws and my aging parents who need financial support from me. My role of being a working woman allows me to share the financial responsibilities of my husband. I have worked against all odds to make a career. So, how can I abandon all this? But should I not take better care of my family? When my boys was an infant, I saw him playing and enjoying with the family living in my neighborhood. He...
