Make your child feel special with these 15 ideas

Our lives with our kids are going smoothly. We are happy and contended but whether our kids feel so?
Kids are very imaginative in nature and they believe in freedom, trial runs, and frequent changes. On the other side, we adults like a stable life without much change or experiment. It's always easy to live our lives without excitement and surprise but for kids tiny surprises or random moments of being silly break the usual boredom of life and make them feel the top of the world. Here are some of the things that we parents can do to surprise our kids and make them feel special. Not every day we should do them and some of them can be done once in a while but testing out these ideas with little customization will show your kids you are thinking of them.
Some super cool ideas which kids love:
1. Your kids must be doing art/craft work. Get their artwork framed and put it in your living room. Let others know your kid's talent and when guests admire your kids, they'll feel special and happy.
2. After picking kids from school, you are heading for home. How about stopping at any ice-cream corner and let them enjoy their favorite ice-cream? If weather allows, take them to the nearest park and let them play. Life can wait for few minutes but these moments will bring lots of smiles for your kids.
3. You always teach kids how to do things, instead let your kids teach you things, like a new game on your cell phone. They'll be delighted to get the opportunity of teaching elders something.
4. Mothers, let your girls wear your jewelry for play. I remember when I was a kid, I used to love trying out my mother's necklace. For precious ones, let your daughters at least try them with a note of being careful.
5. Have you thought about wearing jewelry made by your kids? I have seen many paper jewelry projects for kids which make really awesome bracelets and other stuff.  If you wear them they'll feel so proud.
6. Change your phone's background with your kid's snap. You can change them daily or as per day/occasion. Like festival special pic, school pic, picnic snap or any other their favorite one.
7. Surprise your kids with having breakfast with them on the bed only. Make their favorite breakfast and have with them on any holiday.
8. Say 'yes' for things for which you usually say 'no'. Like, stopping for candy or having another chocolate piece. Let them skip dinner and order outside food.
9. When kids play, we normally keep us busy in TV, laptop, phone, books or in other domestic chores. Make your kids perky with playing with them.
10. Send them smiley notes in their lunch box. Not always they want healthy lunch so once in a while junk food in their tiffin box can bring a big smile on their faces.
11. Kiss their nose, forehead, and cheeks when they are happy. But don't wait to hug them whenever they feel low.
12. Postpone domestic chore for reading storybook/comic for them.
13. Make mundane things enjoyable, like a tent with old saaries, playhouses with misquoting net and bath in open using garden water pipes.
14. Praise your kids in front of their teacher, your relatives or friends. Or make sure they hear them directly or indirectly.
15. Go to bed early a day before and get up early on Monday morning. Instead of yelling "hurry up", get them ready early for school. Instead of going through school bus, drop them school yourself. On the way, you can wait for noticing butterflies/flowers or can visit the nearby temple.
When you wish to execute any of the points above, is totally your call. But doing these things will definitely assure your kids that you love them, you understand them and you care what they like to do.

My 'Invisible' Accomplishments #DecadeHop #RRxMM

As we entered 2020, through this post I am trying to contemplate the coolest, most daring, and most significant feats of my life during the last decade. Now the more I regress my memory, the more I feel there are two types of achievements or accomplishments that I can ponder upon; Visible and Invisible. Visible ones are those that I can count on my finger like a parrot and others can nod also. I got specs on, married to a not-so-romantic man, produced a baby, started writing and added good 17 kgs in my body volume (I was 50 in 2011). However, there are many invisible accomplishments too that either I know silently or very few can assert. From 2011 to 2019, Who am I now From a coy soul to now an outspoken woman, the trek was not easy. I achieved it. From being a no-makeup girl to now a lipstick swatches observer, the transition was tough. But it happened. And from being a sweet hater to now a sweet lover, the change was mysterious yet occurred. And now I can die for Gulab Jamuns....

Vibhu and Web Series - First web series that we enjoyed together

Television has been our biggest medium of entertainment for long. However, with the evolution of the internet, the monopoly broke and people started looking for a new kind of fun through the internet. Social media is one such kind of source of refreshment. Then we witnessed how slowly OTT platforms established their roots in our country and web series became the most-watched content among people of the new generation. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar are few very popular platforms that took over the digital space like a storm.  Then Covid happened. We all were at home and those who had internet access lapped up multiple  web series  on OTT platforms. With lockdown outside, it was binge-watching; nonstop, morning, day, and night. That further accelerated the growth and business of the OTT platforms like hell.  I am also one such person who got caught by web series fever during the first lockdown time. I was on maternity break and totally mad because of postpartum bugs. ...

A Quote That Changed My Life

The very thought of being away from my son all day long sometimes makes me feel low. Being a working woman, I seldom feel that my responsibilities as a mother remain overlooked. The talks of some non-working friends & family ladies add more to this worry of mine. Some of them never worked and many of them had to leave their jobs in order to fulfill the responsibility as a mother. My life often takes me to the thought of becoming a homemaker so that I can stay at home all the time for my son. However, at the same moment, I also realize my responsibility towards my family which includes my in-laws and my aging parents who need financial support from me. My role of being a working woman allows me to share the financial responsibilities of my husband. I have worked against all odds to make a career. So, how can I abandon all this? But should I not take better care of my family? When my boys was an infant, I saw him playing and enjoying with the family living in my neighborhood. He...
