Few things I learned about diapering babies

My son is 2 now but he is not yet potty trained. He even gives false alarms for peeing so in his crèche he remains in diapers. It's been one and half years since I am buying/ordering diapers. And I am in love with the person who came with the idea of diapers. These little, nearly cloth type pieces have made parents' life so easy and I now hardly find anyone who doesn't use diapers for her babies. With each diaper I changed ever in my life, I learned a lesson. It's no less than mastering any skill which gets perfection after each attempt. These are few funny, ridiculous, possibly useful, and hilarious things I learned about diapering my son:
1. If you want to dress your baby in his nicest and most expensive outfit, never forget to make them wear diapers. The probability of blow-out is more in the case of new outfit.
2. Be careful if you baby is relating to cartoon characters printed over diapers. If you change the brand you may have to face a denial of wearing them from your baby
3. Don't make your baby wear his/her diaper until the last moment if you are going for a party. Babies can sense than mumma is now doing makeup and the same moment they make you change them.
4. If your toddler is standing very still and is quiet, he/she is probably pooping.
5. If your toddler is hiding in a corner, he/she is probably pooping with thinking something.
6. If your baby has a weird smile or making a strange face, they are for sure pooping.
7. If you are at your relative's place and you found people sniffing the air subtly, you should probably check your baby’s diaper.
8. Always ask before you put a poo-diaper in the garbage at someone else’s house.
9. Never go for a car ride or road trip without an extra pair of clothes for yourself. For baby you anyway carry them but you can't enjoy the trip in wet/soiled cloths.
10. When you start per-ordering diapers, you should know that your mind has accepted that they are simply a boon and you can’t miss ordering them.
11. Most of the times babies poo in fresh diapers.
12. When you are changing your newborn, you feel poo in a diaper is better. But when you start changing your toddler, you feel poo in any diaper is yuck, no matter how expensive the diaper is.
13. Be cautious when changing your baby boy. It goes far.
14. Someday you may face a diaper situation when you feel gross and you wouldn't even know where to begin cleaning. But take a deep breath and concentrate on the smallest area. You will eventually get it all clean.
15. If your toddler has understood potty-training quickly, it’s not because you are awesome at it, you are really lucky.
I am still waiting for the time when I would stop ordering extra stock of diapers. But I think I'll miss them. Diapers are really best friends for mothers. Are not they?

My 'Invisible' Accomplishments #DecadeHop #RRxMM

As we entered 2020, through this post I am trying to contemplate the coolest, most daring, and most significant feats of my life during the last decade. Now the more I regress my memory, the more I feel there are two types of achievements or accomplishments that I can ponder upon; Visible and Invisible. Visible ones are those that I can count on my finger like a parrot and others can nod also. I got specs on, married to a not-so-romantic man, produced a baby, started writing and added good 17 kgs in my body volume (I was 50 in 2011). However, there are many invisible accomplishments too that either I know silently or very few can assert. From 2011 to 2019, Who am I now From a coy soul to now an outspoken woman, the trek was not easy. I achieved it. From being a no-makeup girl to now a lipstick swatches observer, the transition was tough. But it happened. And from being a sweet hater to now a sweet lover, the change was mysterious yet occurred. And now I can die for Gulab Jamuns....

Vibhu and Web Series - First web series that we enjoyed together

Television has been our biggest medium of entertainment for long. However, with the evolution of the internet, the monopoly broke and people started looking for a new kind of fun through the internet. Social media is one such kind of source of refreshment. Then we witnessed how slowly OTT platforms established their roots in our country and web series became the most-watched content among people of the new generation. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar are few very popular platforms that took over the digital space like a storm.  Then Covid happened. We all were at home and those who had internet access lapped up multiple  web series  on OTT platforms. With lockdown outside, it was binge-watching; nonstop, morning, day, and night. That further accelerated the growth and business of the OTT platforms like hell.  I am also one such person who got caught by web series fever during the first lockdown time. I was on maternity break and totally mad because of postpartum bugs. ...

A Quote That Changed My Life

The very thought of being away from my son all day long sometimes makes me feel low. Being a working woman, I seldom feel that my responsibilities as a mother remain overlooked. The talks of some non-working friends & family ladies add more to this worry of mine. Some of them never worked and many of them had to leave their jobs in order to fulfill the responsibility as a mother. My life often takes me to the thought of becoming a homemaker so that I can stay at home all the time for my son. However, at the same moment, I also realize my responsibility towards my family which includes my in-laws and my aging parents who need financial support from me. My role of being a working woman allows me to share the financial responsibilities of my husband. I have worked against all odds to make a career. So, how can I abandon all this? But should I not take better care of my family? When my boys was an infant, I saw him playing and enjoying with the family living in my neighborhood. He...
